Crustaceans are invertebrate animals protected by a rigid shell and equipped with jointed legs and two pairs of antennae. Most live in water, in the sea as well as in fresh water, and breathe through gills; they moult in order to grow. The crab, the shrimp, the lobster and the spiny lobster are among the best known.
