Your animal age in human years

The “×7” rule is wrong: a one-year-old dog is already a teenager, not a 7-year-old child. Enter the date of birth (or the age) and get the human equivalent using the veterinary formula.

Why “×7” is wrong

A dog reaches sexual maturity before age 1 and a one-year-old cat already equals a 15-year-old human: ageing is not linear. It is very fast during the first two years (≈15 then ≈9 human years), then slows down — and large dogs age faster than small ones. That is the formula vets use, and the one behind this calculator.

⚕️ This conversion is an indicative average. Breed, lifestyle and health make real ageing vary: your veterinarian remains the best judge of your animal biological age.
