Frequently asked questions

At what age should a puppy or kitten be vaccinated?

The primary course starts around 6 to 8 weeks, followed by two injections 3 to 4 weeks apart, up to about 16 weeks. Before the course is complete the animal is not properly protected: avoid places frequented by other animals.

Is rabies vaccination mandatory in Tunisia?

Yes, rabies vaccination is mandatory for dogs in Tunisia, with an annual booster. Rabies still circulates there: it is a public health matter, not only a regulation. It is also required to travel with an animal.

How much does a dog or cat vaccine cost in Tunisia?

Prices vary by practice, region and vaccine. Average prices observed on the platform are published in our veterinary barometer. See the Tunisian veterinary barometer

I missed a booster, what should I do?

Do not restart anything on your own: book an appointment. Depending on the delay, the vet resumes the protocol where it stopped or gives a catch-up injection.

Can a sick animal be vaccinated?

No. Vaccination is performed on a healthy, dewormed animal. The vet always examines the animal before injecting and postpones if needed.
